Under this assignment the consultant has carried out review of existing road and its corridor, feasibility study of New Road alignment. Carryout detailed engineering survey and design of road including pavement design and other structures, Concise Initial Environmental Examination, Preparation of Engineering Cost Estimate, Preparation of Contract Packages, Preparation of the Programme, Preparation of Bidding Document, Preparation of Contract Documents and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed road sector and Development of Project Objectives and Scope. Work includes alternate alignment study, detail engineering survey, geotechnical studies including DCP Test, Environmental studies and preparation of concise IEE report, detail design of road including off road structure, side drain, retaining & protection structure, socio-economic and traffic study, develop environmental mitigation plan, develop project implementation plan and Preparation of DPR.

Under this assignment the consultant has carried out Review of existing reports, standards and specifications of road sector related to project, Review and updating of existing report and detail design report of the project, Detail engineering survey of the alignments and their corridors, Detail engineering design of the alignments, Conduct detail hydrological studies for drainage works and propose the suitable cross drainage structures, Carry out traffic studies project the traffic volume for 20 years period, Conduct pavement investigation works for pavement design works, Chose economically feasible pavement type within the study corridor including design of road detail with pavement types, Identify source of construction materials of appropriate quality and determine the quality of materials permitted to be extracted from the different sources, Conduct environmental and social study and prepare the respective report, Wherever required on technical aspects, recommend for improvement on alignment, Prepare detail working drawing in Auto CAD,  Prepare detail cost estimate with analysis of rates, contract packaging and tender document preparation and Prepare detail project report (DPR) for complete road stretches included in the package.

The consultant shall commence the construction supervision works of the project roads within two weeks after award of contract. All the documents and details of completed work including project status report, details of IPC etc will provided by DRO to consultant for smooth execution of civil contract, the consultant shall provide complete construction supervision activities of upgrading works on these roads.

Under this assignment consultant has investigate the technical, economic and environmental Feasibility of roads, so that decision can be made regarding the appropriateness of proceeding with engineering design:  investigate minimum three alternative alignments in terms of socio- economic factors of the influence area, traffic, topography, geology, environmental aspects, soil and other related factors along the alignment with maps, sketches, wherever necessary; prepare order of magnitude of construction cost estimates for the alternative alignments based on a reconnaissance field survey and a study of construction costs; outline stage construction programmed for the project, this includes the investigation of alternative forms of standard of road construction with particular emphasis on material quality and availability, suitability for local conditions, and capital and maintenance costs; Principal works carried out by consultant includes Socio-economic studies of influence area with maps and sketches, Geological studies with particular emphasis on alignment, to check geological & geomorphologic stability minimum natural hazard alignment, after conduction of walk over survey along all the alternative alignment, Engineering Studies of Alignment, Traffic study, Studies on availability of construction materials and access road, Environmental Studies, Studies on People’s Participation in Road Construction, Studies on property Acquisition, Cost estimates and Economical Analysis for different alignment, Ranking of alternatives and recommendation of Alignment, preparation and presentation of feasibility study report.

Road is under construction but Government of India bilateral assistance. Carried out the inventory of Highway and feeder road alignment, study of existing maps and available electronic information (e.g.Google Earth, GIS MAP) and identify the existing roads, possible alternates to the existing roads and new alignment. All the alignment was marked in the maps and images with identification of obligatory points. Further the list of geographical co-ordinates of the obligatory points and any other pertinent locations. Finalized the alignment and length of Highway and its feeder road to improve the connectivity from East to West in tarai region of Nepal. The work also includes the location identification of Major Bridges.
